The Friends We Keep by Susan Mallery

I finished this book today. This is a very light easy read. It is written very nicely for smooth reading. I really enjoy Susan Mallery. I like reading her books after I have read a book that just twists your emotions all around. This book is about 3 close friends. All the friends have something very different going on in their lives. You move along with their lives, their problems and the solutions to their problems. There are some points I couldn't put the book down because I couldn't wait to see what the character did next, or how they reacted to something. The three main life problems shared in the book are: teenage pregnancy, divorcee learning to date and trust again, and one that couldn't have children of her own. These are pretty typical issues in today's world all in one book. To me some of the book is empowering and may help some women see they are stronger than they think. It shared both male and female stand points and emotions. It shows how some can be selfish and it shows a family finding love. I guess you could say it is an inspiring book to read. I wish there was a second one cause I would really like a little more on them. How their lives continued on is what I would like to know, but I can think of that in my own mind! This is a book that left me smiling but not emotionally drained. Again I thought it was a fun read. It reminds me how friendships should be and how important they are.

Warning: all topics all ready mentioned teenage pregnancy, divorce and learning to date and trust again, and inability to have child.

Rating: I would give it a solid 4 on a 1-5 scale. It is not thrilling or exciting but it does keep you reading.
