Three Sisters by Susan Mallery

Yes I read another Susan Mallery. I really like her writing. Her books are very easy to read. This book was a good one. Just a nice relaxing read. It is about 3 women who live in 3 matching houses. The houses are actually called the Three Sisters because they are houses sitting on a hill and they are the same kind of house. Very old historic style homes. There are three women who live in them, 2 have husbands. Each woman is going through their own problems. One was left at the alter by a man she had been with for 10 years, said he wasn't ready, yet married his secretary 2 weeks later. One had a child that had a heart defect and died at the age of 6 months in her arms and she is struggling to grieve. The last one is a mother who was abused as a child and only wants life to be perfect but she works too hard at being perfect and is more of a drill sergeant than a nurturing mom to her 5 girls. These are real life struggles that people go through on a daily basis. This shows how they come together and how they work on their issues. Yes, the topics are depressing but I found reading about them inspiring. Maybe because I have my own issues but don't we all. I would like more of these characters. I would like to find out what happens in their lives like 5 years down the road. How are they handling things now. Just to let you know the public library has a nice selection of her books. I struggle to find some of my favorite authors there but they have this one. This book pulls at your heartstrings with a good story line but it does not mess with your head or you heart like some. It's just a light refreshing read.

Warning: I all ready told you the topics in question; loss of child, left at altar and abused child.

Rating: I would give this a 4 out of 5.
